Thakur Flowers was founded in 1938 by Shri. Sadashiv Sakharam Thakur, as a wholesale flower vendor, at Bhuleshwar ( Phool Galli) in the Girgaon area of South Mumbai. However, it was an extremely modest beginning with very limited resources. Limited to the relatively small sale to locals of the area. Basically due to, small base of suppliers and relatively small local market. However, with time the wholesale market started growing in the Dadar area of Mumbai and the first strategic decision of shifting our base was taken in the year 1978-1980.

Shri Balasaheb Thakur the son, now continues the tradition into its second generation, with modern professional approach and management techniques. In the year 1982, with ASIA games, in New Delhi, the much awaited break for larger volumes was our major development venture. Which we endevoured, endured and established with great success. Our customer support won us many new clients and generated a lot of goodwill. The location, being more central to Mumbai and suburbs, our client list grew both in numbers and quality. Since 1982, we have been consistently sourcing our supplies from the AALSMEER Flower Auction Market in HOLLAND, which is the largest single Market for Floral Distribution Worldwide.
